Top 5 Snohomish County Locations That are Toddler friendly, Pregnant-Mom Accessible & Perfect for Family Photos

As a maternity and family photographer, I know how challenging it can be to find the perfect spot for a photo session, especially if you're toting a toddler and a baby bump! Fear not, fellow mamas-I've scouted the best outdoor locations, within Snohomish County, that are both beautiful and accessible for you and your little ones. Whether you want to DIY maternity photos or considering hiring a photographer-these locations are perfect.

  1. Wellington Hills, Woodinville, WA (yes, it's in Snohomish County-I checked!)

Wellington Hills is a gorgeous open field with tall grass and long walking trails that crisscross over acres of land. It's beautiful any time of day and any time of year. It's the go-to place for rolling hills of dried grass that everyone loves. Cons of this location: no bathrooms and rough street parking.

2. Lake Goodwin, Stanwood, WA

This lake is fantastic because the water is shallow for quite a distance, making it relatively safe and a fun place to splash around. There's a wooded walking trail, dock, reeds and logs-all make for picturesque location. Cons: Lake Goodwin is a popular place among locals, and the small parking space fills up quickly. Sessions will need to happen earlier in the day and/or during the week.

3. McCollum Park, Everett, WA

Did you know that there's a huge nature preserve and a walking trail behind McCollum Park/Pool? There's even a shallow creek directly behind the playground! The beauty nestled within a bustling city, makes this location the perfect place to explore, and capture lasting memories. Downside? The playground and pool can be distracting for young kids-try to arrive earlier than your session time to let them get the wiggles out!

4. North Creek Park, Bothell, WA

North Creek Park features an amazing boardwalk that floats most of the way, surrounded by tall reeds, water and trees. It can be risky to anyone who isn't steady on their feet (picture walking on a boat). This location has the longest walk to get to the best spots, making it perfect if you're ready to 'walk-out' that baby ;)

5. Picnic Point Park, Edmonds, WA

The most challenging part about this location is the steep path that crosses over the train tracks from the parking lot to the beach. However, once you get to the other side, there's beach, driftwood and grassy spots. All choice options for a beautiful sunset session.

These locations are all great for exploring, nature walks and photoshoots! Whether you want to DIY some photos of your children or want to hire a photographer, now you know where you can go locally that will be a big hit for everyone!
